  1. TIME – The Tournament will be played in FAST PLAY mode. You will have 72 hours to complete a maximum of 3 games (Best 2 out of 3 advances). Players should let each other know in advance when they will be available to play. If you need a significant amount of time before your next move in the game, be courteous and notify the other player via the chat feature on the app. If TWO FULL games are not completed within the allotted time, then BOTH players will be eliminated from the tournament. An appeal may be made to your assigned referee if you can prove (via screenshot) that your opponent: failed to start the match, “no-showed,” or “forfeited.” An appeal does not guarantee a reversal of elimination.

  2. WINNING – First player to win 2 games determines the winner of each round. Upon each round’s conclusion, the winner must take a screen shot of all games played and email their assigned referee to report the round’s results (e.g., final scores, forfeitures, or abandoned games).

  3. TIES – If a game ends in a tie, keep playing more games until one player wins 2 games. If the allotted time to finish a round runs out, the player with the most total points in all games played (minimum 2 full games) will be declared the winner.  In the rare event that total points are equal, the winner will be determined by coin flip administered by the assigned referee.

  4. NO SHOWS – Games should begin as soon as possible; however, if attempts to reach the opponent are unsuccessful for 24 hours and the opponent refuses to engage, then the aggrieved player will be declared the winner of one (1) game. Aggrieved player must also let their assigned referee know of the situation immediately. Similarly, if a player neglects to make a move for 1 full day (24 hours) and no prior arrangement was made to continue the game at a later time, then the aggrieved player must let their assigned referee know of the situation immediately. Screen shots of chats and/or saved emails may be requested by your referee. If the aggrieved players claims are confirmed, then they will be declared the winner of one (1) game and possibly advance to the next round (determined by referee).

  5. DECLINED GAMES – If a player declines the game at any point, the declined player must notify their assigned referee of the situation and will then have the choice of the following options:
    1. Claim the declined game as an automatic victory.
    2. Agree to play a new game while observing a handicap (equal to the lead in the declined game) in favor of the aggrieved player.
    3. Agree to play a new game with no handicap.

  6. GOING FIRST – Each player has the right to the first move in either one of the first two games. In the third game, the player with the most cumulative points from the first two games has right to first move. Swapping tiles is considered a move.

  7. COMMUNICATION – There is a zero-tolerance policy for any obscene, vulgar, threatening, or discriminative communication of any kind. If any player is found to violate this policy, they will be immediately eliminated from the tournament and have their rights to any refunds, prizes, or recognition revoked.

  8. OUTSIDE HELP / USE OF POWER UPS – Please DO NOT use Power Ups. This tournament is for charity. Let’s use the honor system here. Your skills should be able to speak for themselves.

  9. DISPUTES – In the event a player feels they lost due to unfair treatment by an opponent, then that player can submit their dispute to their assigned referee. Blatant and well-documented cases may result in the reverse result of a round or game. The resolution will be determined on a case by case basis at the sole discretion of the assigned referee and tournament directors, so it should not be expected or assumed that filing a dispute will yield a favorable result in favor of the aggrieved. ALL DECISIONS MADE BY REFEREES ARE FINAL.
